Follow the connections
Chapters help us find our place, but an argument or story can continue across a chapter boundary. Look for a change, contrast, consequence, or repeated concern that joins today’s sections. Reading those connections can prevent an isolated line from carrying a meaning it does not have.
One people in Christ
Ephesians joins praise for God's grace with the formation of a reconciled people. Its ethical teaching concerns a shared life shaped by Christ. Household instructions require historical care and must not be used to excuse coercion or abuse.
